Description
Sculpt Your Masterpiece with Dragon Stone (Ohko Rock
Create a prehistoric landscape in your aquarium with Dragon Stone. Famous for its unique, clay-like texture that resembles the scales of a dragon, this rock features deep crevices and craters perfect for anchoring moss or providing hiding spots for shrimp. Unlike Seiryu stone, Dragon Stone is 100% Inert, meaning it will not alter your water’s pH or hardness, making it the safest choice for sensitive Caridina shrimp and soft-water planted tanks.
Key Benefits & Features
-
Exotic “Scale” Texture: The heavily pitted surface provides incredible depth and shadow to your layout, making even simple aquascapes look professional.
-
Water Chemistry Safe (Inert): Does not leach calcium or carbonates. It won’t raise your pH or GH, making it ideal for Amazonian setups, Discus, and Crystal Red Shrimp.
-
Easy to Shape: Being clay-based, this rock is softer than granite. You can easily break it with a hammer and chisel (or even a screwdriver) to create small details or fit it into nano tanks.
-
Lightweight: You get “more rock per kilo” compared to dense stones like Slate or Seiryu, allowing you to build higher structures with less weight.
-
Warm Earth Tones: Features rich shades of yellow, orange, red, and brown that contrast beautifully against green aquatic plants and dark soil.
Preparation & Cleaning – Important!
-
Dragon Stone is a natural clay-based rock and is often harvested from lake beds. It will arrive with dried clay/mud inside the holes.
-
Before Use: Soak the rocks in water for 1-2 hours, then use a toothbrush or wooden pick to clean out the mud from the crevices. This reveals the true texture and color of the stone.
