Description
Create a stunning, natural riverbed look in your aquarium with our Premium Natural River Sand. Featuring a mix of soft whites, creams, and pale greys, this substrate mimics the bottom of the Amazon river. It is the perfect decorative foreground for planted tanks or a soft, safe home for bottom-dwelling fish like Corydoras, Loaches, and Geophagus.
Key Benefits & Features
100% Inert & Safe: Will not alter your water’s pH or Hardness (GH/KH). It is safe for all freshwater aquariums, including soft-water shrimp tanks and sensitive Discus setups.
-
Soft & Smooth Grains: The grains are naturally tumbled and rounded, preventing injury to the delicate barbels (whiskers) of catfish and bottom feeders that dig for food.
-
Perfect for Aquascaping: Ideal for creating “cosmetic paths” in planted tanks to contrast against dark aquasoil and green plants (the “La Plata” style look).
-
Anchors Plants Well: The fine grain density holds stem plants and root tabs securely, preventing them from floating up.
-
Pre-Washed Quality: (Note: Always rinse!) Sourced from clean riverbeds and processed to minimize dust and debris compared to construction sand.
